1975 Seiko 6106-8729 Automatic “DX” Day/Date
1975 Seiko 6106-8729 Automatic “DX” Day/Date
If you’re looking to add an affordable vintage to your line up without sacrificing build quality, the “DX” sub lines are possibly the best bargain for your budget. DX or “deluxe” notates that these variants are at the higher end of the entry level market. Often fitted with the Suwa division’s venerable 6106 workhorse, these watches will give you the performance you need with styling to spare. This bold, blue stunner from August of ’75 could not be missed. The cobalt blue dial with lacquer finishing is immaculate, and absolutely mesmerizing. It’s framed by a polished chapter ring that works reflected light across the polished markers and hands with white overlay striping. The case has an industrial aesthetic with beveled edges and mixed finishes that make for pounds of vintage appeal. We’ve paired it with a dark vintage chestnut to counter the dial and offer a comfortable fit and finish. It’s unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement crystal, and guaranteed to be a go to “daily driver.” The self-winding 6106C offers hacking seconds, and post service is keeping near perfect time. If you’re looking to add your first vintage piece, or a bit of color to your existing line up, this one won’t be beat.
