1995 JDM Seiko 7002-700J Automatic 150m Pro Diver

1995 JDM Seiko 7002-700J Automatic 150m Pro Diver

$0.00

As production of the 6309 ended in 1988, Seiko introduced it’s next generation of 150m Sport Divers by way of the 7002. It is the direct predecessor to the SKX line of today, and owning one can feel like the perfect blend of old and new. Honest original examples, however, have become tough to track down. That’s even truer of the 700J, as it was the JDM variant, and not available outside of Japan. The majority of 7002’s available on the market today have been gutted and re-fitted with aftermarket dials, hands, bezel inserts, and even counterfeit movements. Finding an untouched JDM version takes real effort and patience. We’ve done the hard work for you with this stunning example from April of ’95. The dial is flawless, and nearly identical to the export version except that beneath the 150m rating, the jewel count (17) is also listed. The markers have developed a stone gray patina thats even throughout, and the hands have kept their clean, polished finish and original luminous. The case is unpolished, and the original factory finishes are still clearly intact. The case back is free of tool marks, and along with crown, screws down tightly. The “Pepsi” bezel insert has a touch of fade, and very little wear. This is everything a vintage diver should be. It’s completely original aside from a replacement mineral crystal, and post service it’s keeping near perfect time. We’ve paired it with an oxidized GL831 from Uncle Seiko for a seamless fit and finish. In recent years, the 7002 has become a dark horse for collectors. Demand has exploded, and all original examples are quickly disappearing from the open market. Add this one to your own roster while you still can.
