From September of ‘72, this classic from Seiko’s Daini division is vintage casual at its very best. The dial is a bright silver sunburst with a flawless lacquer finish. The applied baguette markers are long and lean, and the beveled surfaces are polished to a mirror finish. The hands are well proportioned, easily legible, and the original luminous material throughout is clean. A framed window displays the day and date at three o’clock, and the day is in German only. The date can be quickset via the crown in the second position, and the day is semi-quickset. The case is classic Seiko styling with tapered lugs and a recessed crown. It’s perfectly balanced, and the thinner profile makes for easy wear. It’s unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement acrylic crystal. Post service, the 7006 driving the hands is keeping near perfect time and has a strong reserve. We’ve paired it with a textured brown leather with full white stitching for a versatile and comfortable finish.
