From July of ‘74, this classic from Seiko’s Daini division is vintage casual at its very best. The dial is a bright silver sunburst with a flawless lacquer finish. The applied baguette markers are long and lean, and the beveled surfaces are polished to a mirror finish. The hands are well proportioned, easily legible, and the original luminous material throughout is clean. A framed window displays date at three, and it quickset via the crown in the second position. The case is classic Seiko styling with tapered lugs and a recessed crown. It’s perfectly balanced, and the thinner profile makes for easy wear. It’s unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement acrylic crystal. Post service, the 7005 driving the hands is keeping near perfect time and has a strong reserve. We’ve paired it with a textured brown leather with full white stitching for a versatile and comfortable finish.
