Its matte white frosted finish offers great texture, and is the perfect backdrop for the glossy black, raised Arabic markers. The hour and minute hands are thin, lengthy batons with a bright polished finish and black striping through the center. Counting the seconds, a long and slender sweep that nearly touches the subtle minute track. The day and date share a framed window at three o’clock, and both can be quickset via the crown. The case is textbook Seiko with tapered lugs, a recessed crown, and a well balanced beveled bezel. The 7009 is a tried and true workhorse that’s keeping near perfect time post service, and is ready for many more years of reliable performance.
