Seiko’s earliest sport divers are clean and minimalist tool watches with a militaristic presence and subtle detailing that make them standout additions to any collection. This variant from September of ‘68 is a perfect example. The tonneau style case offers clean lines, a contoured fit, and is topped with a machined bezel with notches at the hours. The dial is perfect. A crisp matte black with luminous Arabic markers that have aged to an even khaki patina throughout. Polished batons count the hours and minutes, and a bright red “lollipop” sweep adds a pop of color. Driving the hands is Seiko’s workhorse 6119 that’s both a reliable and durable caliber built to last. In keeping with it’s military aesthetic, we’ve paired it with a heavy khaki NATO finished in PVD hardware that perfectly complements the dial and hour markers.
