This "time only" 7001 is a rarely seen model with pounds of character and military appeal. The dial, which was once white, has developed a warm khaki patina under the glossy lacquer finish, and shows a few light wear marks near the three o’clock marker. With no date aperture, it offers an extremely clean aesthetic that's only heightened by the stenciled luminous Arabic numbers around the dial. They too have aged beautifully, and are only slightly darker than the dial. The polished hands offer great contrast, and are easy to read at a glance. The case and lugs are one in the same with clean continuous lines on either side of the thin beveled bezel. It’s unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement crystal, and the workhorse 7001 is keeping near perfect time post service. Paired with an olive drab RAF NATO, this beauty from May of 1970 is an affordable head turner with a militaristic appeal that's sure to get plenty of attention.
