This "time only" 7001 is a rarely seen model with pounds of character and military appeal. The dial, which was once white, has developed possibly the most appealing patina I’ve ever seen. Almost pink at the edges, it moves through an iridescent gradient to a smoky cream mid dial. With no date aperture, it offers an extremely clean aesthetic that's only heightened by the stenciled luminous Arabic numbers around the dial. They too have aged in outstanding fashion, and are nearly a mustard yellow. The polished hands offer stark contrast, and great legibility. The case and lugs are one in the same with clean continuous lines on either side of the thin beveled bezel. It’s unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement crystal, and the workhorse 7001 is keeping near perfect time post service. On a deep navy leather with reverse stitching,  this beauty from May of 1970 is an affordable head turner with a militaristic appeal that's sure to get plenty of attention.
