1973 Seiko 7006-8007 Automatic Day/Date
1973 Seiko 7006-8007 Automatic Day/Date
From December of ‘73, this classic from Seiko’s Daini division is affordable vintage at its very best. The dial is flawless, and it’s a charcoal gray sunburst that’s just mesmerizing. The applied baguette markers are long and lean, and the beveled surfaces are polished to a mirror finish. The hands are well proportioned, easily legible, and the original luminous material has faintest patina. A framed window displays the day and date in English only. The date can be quickset via the crown, however the day must be advanced manually. The case is classic Seiko with tapered lugs and a recessed crown. It’s perfectly balanced, and the thin bezel beautifully frames the dial. It’s unpolished and shows only minimal wear. Post service, the 7006 driving the hands is keeping near perfect time and has a strong reserve. We’ve paired it with a dark brown distressed leather for a versatile and comfortable finish. Whether you’re looking for your first vintage piece, or adding a classic casual to your line up, you will not be disappointed.
