1975 Seiko 6106-8709 Automatic “DX” Day/Date “Helmet”
1975 Seiko 6106-8709 Automatic “DX” Day/Date “Helmet”
Our love for vintage Seiko affordables knows no bounds. The appeal of this “DX” model from April of ‘75 is undeniable. In near mint condition, the case is a polished “helmet” style with crisp lines and a wide conical bezel. Beneath it sits a stunning gradient “root beer” brown, sunburst dial with a glossy lacquer finish. It’s topped with polished monument markers, and framed by mirrored upright chapter that reflects light to and from the dial. The hour and minute hands are detailed mixed-finish batons that are easily legible at a glance, and the day/date window sports a polished frame. The DX badge above the six o’clock marker denotes its “deluxe” status, and that’s evidenced by the choice of movement. Seiko’s 6106C offers quickset of both the day and date, and hack second setting. It’s unpolished and completely original including a NOS replacement “hardlex” crystal, and post service, it’s keeping near perfect time. It comes attached to the original “H” link bracelet in stainless steel for a seamless and comfortable finish. Whether your looking to add your first watch, or put some warm color in your rotation, this DX offers unbeatable value for entry level vintage Seiko.
