1995 NOS Seiko 7002-8059 Auto “Sports 50” Field Watch (Box/Papers) FULL KIT
One of the last references to utilize the 7002 movement before the 7S series began its reign over Seiko core models, this 8059 is a short production “field watch” driven by a robust Daini calibre, and housed in all the 1990’s styling you could possibly want. It was available in two color ways, a more casual white dial with triangular markers and polished baton hands, and this black dial with bold Arabic markers and plots, and large military style hands. The case has mixed finishes with sloping flairs along the edges, and a fixed 24 hour bezel. Though the crown does not screw down, it is well protected and sits comfortably recessed behind large crown guards on top and bottom. The dial, without a doubt, gets all the attention here. It’s glossy black finish is set with doubled luminous hour markers, and a large block minute track frame. A small and well balanced date window sits at the three. The hour and minute hands are broad luminous swords trimmed in white, and counting the seconds is a bright white arrow head with a luminous tip. An unworn, new old stock example from March of ‘95, it is in perfect condition including the original hardlex crystal and original heavy black leather strap. In tow is the original inner and outer box, and instruction booklet and warranty card. Post service, its keeping near perfect time, and is ready to provide many years of reliable performance. A robust “weekender” field watch with casual 90’s styling, its nostalgia for the wrist that’s sure to be enjoyed.
