1969 Seiko 5126-6030 Sport Diver
1969 Seiko 5126-6030 Sport Diver
Seiko's Danai division was responsible for some of the greatest watches you've never heard of. Case in point, this 5126-6030sport diver from July of '69 is a rarely seen variant, closely related to the "Rally" divers of the same era. The cushion shaped case has great contours with the crisp and original, circular brush finish on the top surface. It's shape does a fantastic job of bringing focus to the magic that is this bezel and dial combo. The bezel has a great coin edge with a wide glossy black insert sporting silver "count up" markings. Just beneath the domed mineral crystal is the silver and black segmented inner bezel with an opposite "count down" setup. The matte black dial bearing a thick and shiny horizontal stripe with the "Sports" and "70 Proof" markings is the perfect back drop for this onslaught of contrast. The markers are paired perfectly to the hands and at center is a bright orange sweep. In keeping with this barrage of black and white, we've strapped it to a striped NATO with PVD hardware for a fluid finish.
